HP 14DK0028WM
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was buying an HP 14DK0028WM and I wondered if the M2 slot can be used with an NVME drive and whether I need to go into the Options Menu to reconfigure the settings for that.

Hi:

The service manual for your notebook's model series indicates that it supports NVMe drives.  See chapter 1.

I don't believe that any settings need to be changed in the BIOS, but on a few notebooks only the M.2 drive works or the 2.5" drive works, but not both at the same time.

Unfortunately, I have no idea if yours is one of those.

The good news is the manual does show support for dual configurations.
