I have a Pavilion 14 x360 14m-cd0001dx and I'm wondering if it will work with a usb-c charger.  The original power adapter broke and it seems to have damaged the power port on the laptop.  The laptop still functions but it doesn't always want to recognize that the replacement charger is plugged in.  If it can be charged by USB-C that may solve the issue I have without having to pay to have it repaired or buying a new one.  I have checked the manual and could find no information on this as it seems to be a generalized manual.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

Charging via the USB Type-C port is unlikely

The power port can be replaced with a new power connector cable. It just plugs into the system board.

Having that replaced  shouldn't be very expensive.

The dc power in connector cable (includes a new power port) part number is HP part number L18220-001

Here is a search I did for the part. The least expensive was less than $9.00 on eBay

That manual helped, thanks.  Using it I was able to figure out the issue.  The part won't sit properly in its little bracket in the laptop anymore.  When I was plugging the cable in, it was pushing it backwards and not making a proper connection.  I was able to make a little shim using duct tape and it seems to be holding.  We'll have to see how long this fix lasts.  Good old duct tape to the rescue once again!

Great!

I am always pleased to hear of a problem that is sorted.
