I have a hp victus I got in September and my charger got ate I have a new charger on its way but my dad has a hp laptop from like 2016 and the charger fits mine but idk if it will even work or if it will damage my laptop or his charger

Does it have the same watt and voltage of the previous charger ? if not, it is not convenient to use.
