Linux

Hello,

Here is my problem:

I have an Elitebook 850 G6 on which I have to install a Linux distribution (in this case PopOS) in Dual-Boot.

For that I follow the classic procedure, I use rufus to create a bootable USB key. When I plug it on my pc and I try to boot on it I have the following error : "Selected boot image did not authenticate."

I saw that disabling Secure boot could solve this problem so that's what I wanted to do.

I go to the options then I disable the Secure boot, quit and save the changes.

The PC restarts and I type the 4 digit code to confirm the changes, and when I go back to the options I see that Secure boot is not disabled, it reactivates itself so I can't boot on my USB stick....

I've been going around in circles for a while on this problem and I would like your help! Please!

Thank you for your help.

I followed the instructions and steps to update all my drivers and BIOS.

I have the same problems when I disable secure boot...

It reactivates itself on the next boot.

Thanks for your help but I need more ! :[

Hello @Lilian38

If <Secure Boot> is disabled you have to enter a (digit) code at the next startup which is displayed to confirm these changes. Did you do that ?

Kind regards

Yes, I enter the 4 digit code, after that the computer reboot and Secure boot is back.

Hello @Lilian38

(1) Disable <Secure Boot>, save settings and exit

(2) Send picture of BIOS <change request> (4 digit code) <- random code, no sensitive data !

Kind regards

HP Recommended

First, I change from the state <Legacy Support Disable and Secure Boot Enable> to <Legacy Support Disable and Secure Boot Disable>.

Then I save.

And there is the change request (I just type the 4 digit code and press enter).

After that, the computer reboot and Secure boot is back ! :[
