HP Spectre x360 - 15-bl112dx
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello everybody

So I change the keyboard and battery of my Old Spectre BL012DX. Upon turning on the computer it indicates it cannot find the camera. So Reinstall/erase the hard disk still the same problem.

Did my webcam just died?

I'm sure reconnect all the wires in the computer before closing up.

Hello.

Check the BIOS settings first for the webcam. It may be disabled there as well.

Check whether your laptop has a webcam kill switch.

If these didn't help, the Service Guide for your laptop has instructions for webcam camera module cable at pages 47-48 and 50. Even if the webcam cable looks fine I recommend disconnecting and connecting it again, in case the connector just isn't perfectly aligned.

Thanks Jupitero.

My laptop has no kill switch. Have check the BIOS but no settings for camera.

The camera was working before I change the battery and keyboard.

Hi,

In this case I can only recommend opening the laptop and reseating the internal webcam cable.

If you are unsure of doing this, you can always take it to a nearest HP service partner and have them diagnose and fix the problem.
