HP Notebook 14
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I have a ~2 year old laptop, HP Notebook 14. I recently tried connecting a wireless Logitech mouse and couldn't get it to work. I now have a separate Onn wireless mouse that I am trying and it still won't work. By doesn't work, I mean there is zero functionality. Here is what I have tried:

New batteries

Tried both mouses on a different (Dell) laptop and they worked immediately

When the dongle is inserted, I hear the usual chime and it says the mouse was connected successfully

In device manager, a new driver pops up when the mouse is connected and says "The device is working properly"

I uninstalled all drivers under the mouse section and restarted the laptop (as suggested elsewhere in this community)

I restarted and pressed F2 to enter diagnostics and did the Component Test, again with the mouse not working

I have entered Command Prompt and tried to uninstall the update (KB4074588), with an error that said the update wasn't a valid windows package

With the Logitech mouse I downloaded the Logitech Unifying Software and my mouse showed up (I also noticed that when I moved or clicked the mouse a little icon appeared on the Logitech Unifying Software screen indicating it recognized that I was working the mouse) but still the cursor didn't budge.

Am I missing something obvious? Please help.

I use a Logitech mouse in Win10 and find that Options works well.  You can get it from here:  https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025297893

@WAWood,

This didn't work and essentially just led me back to the Logitech Unifying Software. Again, the mouse shows up and a little orange icon appears when I move or click the mouse. But the cursor does not move.

Sorry ... it works fine for me.
