I have the same problem. The latch is Stucked. It can only be moved to the right and not to the left to remove the battery. What else can I do ? Please help. I need to replace the battery.

This is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that the latch is stuck and not moving. I would like to help you resolve this issue. 

 

This seems to be a hardware issue.

I request you to contact HP Phone support for further assistance on this.
