Hey,
It's been two days and this problem is really annoying me. I was using my laptop and all of a sudden the caps lock started blinking and the touchpad stopped responding. Typing became impossible. I then tried to remap the Caps Lock key to some other key I dont frequently use like the L-Shift, but the problem remained the same so that made me quite confident that is it was a hardware problem, the problem just seemed to be that whatever key is associated with the caps lock goes on and off like crazy and also jams the touchpad along with it, the touchpad gets unjammed when you press the Ctrl button though.
I reset the drivers, did a hard reset, re-installed the OS and formatted the C drive but nothing seems to work. These fixes work for like 5-10 minutes but then the same problem appears. I searched on the internet but there seems to be no solution. I remapped the caps lock to other keys like the numpad enter, the L-Shift, the R-Shift, the Tab, the F5 but all show similar behaviour. I also connected an external keyboard but the caps lock toggle also kept going on and off there too. Please help.
My specs are:
Hp Notebook 15 r-204ne
Core i5-5th gen
8gig RAM
1 TB storage
Nvidia 820M
Windows 10 64-bit

ok so i managed to fix the caps lock issue by disabling the caps lock entirely using the SharpKeys tool to edit the registry but the touchpad is still getting jammed randomly and I have to press Ctrl to unjam it. I'm currently using a USB mouse and the device is a lot more usable but I'd appreciate it if someone has a way to fix the touchpad problem. I'm willing to sacrifice the caps lock and just use to shift key to type capitals.
