I'm thinking of buying a Care Package but I'm getting a message that there is no package available for my Notebook. I'm surprised at this seeing it's only 19 months old. I'd appreciate any advice on this matter. I've tried contacting HP but that's proved impossible.

@bren794 -- do such packages need to be purchased while the original (one year?) HP Warranty is still active?

Possibly but when I look at my account and select support options it gives me the option of a care package but declines when I enter my serial number. However if I go onto the HP website without signing in I can buy a care package without entering any product details which seems very odd. I've emailed HP and had no reply.

I wonder if you do purchase, and then try an online "registration",  will you get a "not eligible for your serial-number" message?  Then, you would have to deal with HP, to try to get a refund. Sigh.

Yes that was my concern. Judging by the appalling communications from HP I wouldn't relish the challenge. I think I'll forget the package and take my chances. Cheers.

Just an update: I am now getting a pop up saying Last Chance to extend warranty. I click the link and it takes me to a list of HP care packages. Do I take it that my lap top is therefore eligible for an extended warranty? I would very much like a clear answer from HP about this. I note that they haven't replied to an email I sent them asking this very question. Most confusing.

I must thank HP for closing my case without making any attempt to answer my question! I've given up-I'll live without a care package.
