HP Laptop PC 15-dy2000 (2D115AV)

My laptop makes a noise when connecting the charger (original) I have detected that the noise comes from the bottom inside the laptop, after making this noise, it just stops and stops charging, then it returns to the same noise and turns on the charge indicator and repeats turning off again, so until I disconnect it

Hi @AlexAvilaOoo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The intermittent charging issue you're experiencing with your HP Laptop PC 15, along with the noise coming from the bottom of the laptop, could be caused by several factors. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

Check the Charger and Port:

  • Inspect the Charger: Ensure that the charger is functioning properly. Look for any visible damage to the cable or connectors. If possible, try using a different compatible charger to see if the issue persists.
  • Clean the Charging Port: Dust or debris in the charging port can cause poor connections. Use compressed air or a soft brush to gently clean the port.

Battery Health:

  • Check Battery Status:
    • On Windows, go to Settings > System > Battery and check the battery health. If the battery is old or degraded, it may not charge correctly.
  • Remove and Reinsert the Battery (if removable): If your laptop has a removable battery, try taking it out, cleaning the contacts, and reinserting it.

Power Reset:

  • Perform a Power Reset: Disconnect the charger, remove the battery (if removable), and press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds. Reconnect the battery and charger, then try turning on the laptop again.

Update Drivers and BIOS:

  • Update Battery Drivers:
    • Go to Device Manager > Batteries, right-click on the battery drivers (like "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery"), and select "Update driver."
  • Update BIOS: Check HP's support website for any BIOS updates for your laptop model. Be cautious when updating the BIOS; follow instructions carefully.

Inspect Internal Components:

  • If you're comfortable doing so, consider checking the internal components for loose connections or damage. The noise might be caused by a loose component inside the laptop.

These steps should help identify and potentially resolve the charging issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
