Hello @Abroms,

I regret to inform you that because the Intel® Core™ i5-8250U uses the FC-BGA1356 socket, upgrades are physically impossible.

This is because this is a Ball Grid Array processor meaning that the processor is integrated.

Hope this helps,

Eddy

Hi,

As @EddyK stated, it is not possible to upgrade the CPU as it is integrated on the motherboard. The only way would be to replace motherboard which would most likely cost more than buying new PC with desired specs. On page 50 of service manual you can see various motherboards.

Anyway, I am wondering why you want to upgrade the CPU? There are different upgrades you could perform which would be more noticeable in everyday use of PC, such as replacing the hard drive with an SSD or even possibly inserting a very fast M2 PCIe drive (first we would need to check if slot is present).

The RAM is upgradeable to 32GB.

Let me know,

David
