HP Pavilion - 14-ce3550nd

J have changed the Battery of the laptop. This is a third party battery. The problem is when I just use the laptop without power, it is very slow. When I add the power cable there is no problem. I have set it on best performance, but the problem remains. Does the laptop need an original battery of HP?

@MarcD2, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Using a third-party battery in your HP Pavilion laptop can sometimes lead to performance issues, as the battery may not be fully compatible with the laptop’s hardware. HP laptops are engineered to work optimally with genuine HP batteries that meet specific power delivery requirements.

Here are a few points to consider:

Performance Dependency: HP laptops are designed to work efficiently with HP-certified components to ensure optimal performance. Third-party batteries may not provide the required power consistency, leading to performance issues, especially when the laptop is not connected to a power source.

Power Management Settings: Sometimes laptops automatically switch to a 'power saver' mode when running on battery, which can slow down performance. Ensure your laptop's power management settings are correctly configured to maintain performance while on battery.

Battery Quality: The quality and power output of third-party batteries can vary significantly. A battery that does not match HP's specifications might not adequately power your laptop, causing it to slow down when not plugged into the power supply

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
