Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The character repeat is no longer working on my HP Pavilion laptop.  I only see one character per press & hold of a key. How do I get the character repeat back? I had tried a bunch of solutions for another issue with the mouse just randomly operating by itself, and after that, the character repeat stopped working.  I don't remember all of things I tried for that solution so I don't know where to go to fix this new problem. Changes to character repeat in keyboard properties don't do anything.

@Robi96

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that character repeat is not working, I am glad to assist you.

Adjust the key repeat delay.

In Windows, search for and open keyboard to open Keyboard Properties.

Drag the Repeat delay slider to Long, click Apply, and then click OK.

Keyboard Repeat delay setting

The keyboard should now work as expected.

Keep me posted.

Thanks Sandy, but I had tried that already, multiple times. I did a hard reset and that worked. I think my PC also wanted to update, so between the two, it started working again
