Hi @Allen10251025av,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with the charger issue.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

1. Basic Checks

Verify power source: Plug the charger into a different wall socket.

Check charging LED: If the light doesn’t turn on, the adapter or port may be faulty.

Inspect charger & cable: Look for frayed wires, bent pins, or loose connections.

2. Reset & Restart

Restart the laptop: Sometimes a reboot resolves charging glitches.

Perform a hard reset:

Shut down the laptop.

Unplug the charger and remove the battery (if removable).

Hold the power button for 15–20 seconds.

Reconnect and try charging again.

3. Software & Driver Fixes

Battery driver reinstall:

Open Device Manager → Expand Batteries.

Right-click each battery device → Uninstall.

Restart laptop → Windows reinstalls drivers automatically.

Update BIOS & drivers: Outdated firmware can cause charging issues.

4. Hardware Diagnostics

Run HP Battery Check:

Search for HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows.

Run Battery Check under Component Tests.

If a failure ID appears, you may need repair or replacement.

Test with another charger: If a different HP charger works, yours is faulty.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
