Hi,
When I plug my laptop in it charges for about 10 seconds, then disconnects. It was absolutely fine yesterday, but this morning when I started to use the laptop I noticed the problem.
I can't think of anything that has changed. I did close the laptop last night with football manager still running, but thats never been a problem before.
I cant think of anything that's causing the problem really. It's a built in battery so I can't remove it and replace it, do I try a new charger? Or is it going to be something about the laptop itself?
I have noticed that the laptop seems to charge fine when shut down, but if its powered up it doesnt work.
Thanks!

HI@wlauro1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand that the battery is not getting charged.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you update the BIOS and the chipset driver from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
If you continue facing the issue, then restore the BIOS defaults and check.
Here is how it is done.
- Backup and save important information on your computer, and then turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer, and then click F10, until the BIOS opens.
- Under the Main tab, use the up and down arrow keys to select Restore Defaults. ...
- Select Yes.
- Under the Main tab, use the up and down arrow keys to select Save Changes and Exit.
- When prompted, click Yes to save changes and exit.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!
Cheers!

Hi@wlauro1,
We have done the basic troubleshooting as per the document and the notebook needs to check to get to know its hardware is faulty, not a software issue.
I'd suggest you contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer or HP Chat Support Team.
