HP Spectre x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Laptop not detecting the charger when I move it slightly or it's in the wrong position despite it being plugged in. Same happens with my phone so I know it's the charger. Is this covered by warranty? If not, where can I find the charger for this model?

Thank you

this is kind of an easy question, why no responses? 😞

@goatieee, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

What is the exact model Notebook you are using?

Refer to this document to know how to find the Product Name or Product Number.

Perform a test to check the functionality of the charger

  1. Make sure the power cord and adapter is connected to the system and wall outlet.

  2. Press and hold the power button until the computer turns off completely.

  3. Turn on the computer.

  4. Immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second, until the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI screen displays.

  5. In the UEFI Main menu, select Component Tests.

  6. In the Component Tests menu, select Power > Select AC Adapter > Run the test.

The Notebook including the charger comes with one year of factory warranty. If it is defective under the warranty period, it can be replaced. If it is out of warranty, kindly visit HP Store to check the availability and order the same online.

For more info on testing the AC adapter, refer to Using and Testing the AC Power Adapter.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Kumar,

Thank you for your response. I am using an HP Specter x360 13-ae006na. Can you direct me to exactly what charger I should be purchasing please? Are there different options for what charger I should be using because some are much more expensive than others.

Thanks

EDIT: would https://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=1HE08AA&opt=&mastersku=1HE08AA&masteropt=&sel=ACC... be ok?

@goatieee

According to the product specifications, this Notebook uses a 65 W AC power adapter (non-PFC, RC, USB-C, 3-pin). So, yes you may order the Power adapter that has been attached in your post.

The part numbers for the AC Power Adapter are 860209-850 or 938800-850.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
