HP Envy x360 m6 Convertible
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I have an HP Envy x360 m6 Convertible (2016). A few years ago the battery stopped working and I left it alone for a while. The original battery became inflated so I bought a replacement battery off amazon (ANTIEE MB04XL Laptop Battery for HP Envy X360 M6-AQ000).

The battery is detected but does not charge (plugged in 0%). After while then it says "Battery Not Detected" / "Battery Not Present"

Any suggestions or should I take it to a repair shop? I just want to use this as a 2nd monitor or to play basic games that dont require much power/demand.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I understand that you are getting a Battery Not Detected error on your printer.
I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • 1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.
  • 2. Expand batteries.
  • 3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.
  • 4. Shut down the computer.
  • 5. Disconnect the charger.
  • 6. Remove the battery. (only for removable battery)
  • 7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.
  • 8. Insert the battery only. (only for removable battery)
  • 9. Attempt to turn the battery on.
