HP EliteBook 840 G8 Notebook PC IDS Base Model

Greetings!

I would like to know if I can use my 65W charging cord for my HP EliteBook 840 G8 to charge my HP Notebook - 15-dw0083wm which uses a 45W charging cord and vice versa. Your advice would be very much appreciated. Additionally, is there one charging cord that can be used safely to charge both? Thanks!

Charging a 45W laptop with a 65W charger is safe, but it's not recommended to charge a 65W laptop with a 45W charger.

Another question if you would be so kind. Is it safe to detach the plug-in part of the cord from my US HP laptop 45W adapter and plug it into the UK HP laptop 65W adapter? I am having difficulty finding a converter plug to use the UK laptop here in Jamaica.

Yes, the cable is the same for 45W and 65W just different power outlet plug.
