HP Notebook - 14-cf0018ca
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm looking to purchase this 14 in laptop (HP Notebook - 14-cf0018ca).  The feature list shows the USB ports as follows:

  • 1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s)
  • 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Data transfer only)

With respect to the 2 USB 3.1 ports, does the note "Data transfer only) mean that the ports do not support any charging of external devices?  USB3 is supposed to support up to 900 mA per port.

If this is the case, then I will not purchase this laptop since I need to charge my devices.

Thanks

Ron

@RonKIeley

It doesn't support charging unless it says Sleep and Charge in USB ports specs.

For example on this model's specs page:

Thanks for your prompt answer.  Unfotunately I need the USB  ports to power external devices and charge a cell phone, etc.  I'm surprised that this important USB feature is not supported.  Cheers.  Ron
