Hi @Dawn011

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for flagging this—when the wireless charging plate on your HP All-in-One stops working after a Windows update, it’s often due to a firmware conflict, driver rollback, or power state misconfiguration

Even if the charging plate is “enabled,” the system may not be properly initializing it. Let’s walk through a targeted fix:

Step-by-Step Fix for Wireless Charging Plate Not Working

1. Re-enable via OSD Menu

Some HP All-in-Ones have a dedicated On-Screen Display (OSD) menu for power features:

  • Press the OSD button (usually on the back or side of the monitor)
  • Navigate to:
Menu → Power → Wireless Charging
  • Toggle it Off, then On again
  • Save and exit

This forces the embedded controller to reinitialize the charging module.

2. Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers

Windows updates can silently roll back firmware dependencies.

  • Visit HP’s support site and enter your exact model number
  • Download and install:
    • Latest BIOS update
    • Chipset driver
    • Power management driver (if listed)

Install BIOS updates with only the charger connected—no peripherals.

3. Check Windows Power Settings

  • Go to Settings → System → Power & Battery → Additional Power Settings
  • Select Balanced or HP Recommended
  • Click Change plan settings → Change advanced power settings
  • Expand USB settings → USB selective suspend → Set to Disabled

This prevents Windows from powering down the charging module during idle states.

4. Test with a Known Compatible Device

  • Use a phone with Qi wireless charging (e.g., iPhone 8+, Samsung S10+)
  • Remove any thick case or metal accessories
  • Align the phone directly over the charging coil (usually center of base)

If no LED or charging response, the module may be unpowered or failed.

5. Run HP UEFI Diagnostics

  • Restart and press Esc repeatedly → F2 to launch diagnostics
  • Run System Board Test and Power Test
  • If the wireless charging module fails, note the error code for support escalation

If the issue persists, HP may need to reflash the embedded controller or replace the charging module under warranty.

Let me know your exact model (e.g., HP Pavilion All-in-One 24-ca0000a or 27-d0xxx), and I can help locate the correct firmware.

Disabling selective suspend immediately fixed the issue! You're a lifesaver, thanks so much.

Hello @Heezus,

That’s wonderful to hear—disabling USB selective suspend can make a big difference because it stops Windows from putting the charging module into a low‑power state where it never wakes back up. You did exactly the right thing by testing that setting, and it’s great to see the charging plate working again.

To keep it reliable going forward, you might also:

  • Leave the power plan set to Balanced or HP Recommended, since those profiles handle hardware power states more smoothly.
  • Periodically check HP’s support site for BIOS or chipset updates, as they sometimes include fixes for embedded controller features like wireless charging.
  • Make sure your charging device is aligned directly over the coil and free of thick cases or metal attachments, which can interfere with charging efficiency.

If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask. We're here to help!

Thanks again for your confirmation, and we wish you an amazing day ahead! 😊
