Hi @Padkins57,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

To charge your HP laptop using a USB-C port, you need to ensure the following:

USB-C Power Delivery (PD): The USB-C port on your HP laptop should support Power Delivery (PD) technology. Power Delivery is a specification that allows for higher power levels to be delivered through USB-C connectors, making it suitable for charging laptops.

Appropriate Charger: You will need a charger that provides sufficient power for your laptop. Check your laptop's documentation or HP's website to find the recommended wattage for your specific model. HP laptops may require chargers with various wattage ratings, so make sure you have one that matches your laptop's requirements.

USB-C Cable: You'll need a USB-C cable that can carry the necessary power. Not all USB-C cables are created equal, and some may not support high-wattage charging. It's advisable to use the cable that came with your laptop or a certified USB-C cable that's capable of carrying the required power.

BIOS/UEFI Settings: Some laptops require you to enable USB-C charging in the BIOS/UEFI settings. Check your laptop's documentation or visit the HP website to see if this is necessary for your particular model.

Compatibility: Ensure that the charger and cable you are using are compatible with your HP laptop. It's best to use official or certified accessories to avoid any compatibility issues.

However, for more information, it is advisable to contact HP phone support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
