Hello I have a 65W charger that my computer came with but I am wondering will it be ok if I charge the laptop with my 66W phone charger( I have Honor Super charge charger which supports up to 66W). The port has HP's USB Type-C® power connector and SuperSpeed port with HP Sleep and Charge. I just wanted to ask is this gonna be ok or will it damage my computer in any way.

Thank you for the reply's

Hi @HunterH32,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are looking for information related to your Laptop.

Please find the below information related to your concern.

To charge your laptop with a USB-C charger, just plug it in. However, you can’t just use the same charger you have for your phone. Those tend to be low wattage — even the fast charging ones — and laptops are bigger, more powerful devices, so need a more powerful charger in order to charge in a reasonable time.

All phone chargers are rated 5v DC with about 2 amps current, but laptops need 19.5v DC with about 5 amps current. Also pin configuration is different.

Suggest you to use the AC adapter that came with the Laptop for better performance.
