Is it possible to charge my laptop via the usb-c port?

What charger do i need for it, if it is possible?

I've been told by HP Support that if your laptop model has a regular charging port in addition to the USB-C port, then no, you can not charge it using USB-C.

Sorry, but i have to correct you in this.

We use the HP Probook 450 family in our school.

I installed in all classrooms a usb-c hub,

We charge our laptops with these usb-c hubs (the hub is connected with a 65Watt changer)

No need to connect the HP laptop charger if you can use an usb-c charger for that

(connected to the usb-c hub there is a Touchscreen with hdmi and usb for the touch and utp for network connectivity)

Greetings,

Jacques

Understand .. but there was a big debate in the HP forums about this recently due to a customer indicating the specs of their PC claiming their USB-C port supported charging but that would not work.  The HP Support response was what I provided.

The USB-C port has to be certified for Power Delivery -- which the HP spec said WAS the case, but HP support stood by its comments.

Also, a general problem is that you are usually limited to using the proprietary charger that comes with the PC.  Using any other USB-C charger often will not work.
