I have a HP Spectre x360 Convertible 14-ea1005TU (4X744PA) laptop.
recently purchased a Bauhn Powerbank Model: APB27GMC-0725-B and would like to know if I can use it to power the laptop directly using a USB-A (battery end) to USB-C (laptop end) cable.
I notice the power cable supplied with the laptop is rated 65W whereas the Powerbank is 27,000mAh and 97.2Wh.
Any advice gratefully received. Many thanks.

@BonzoD, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand you're looking to power your HP Spectre x360 Convertible 14-ea1005TU using a Bauhn Powerbank (Model: APB27GMC-0725-B) via a USB-A to USB-C cable. I’ll be happy to clarify this for you.
Key Considerations for Charging via Power Bank:
Laptop Power Requirements:
- Your Spectre x360 model typically requires 65W USB-C Power Delivery (PD) for proper charging.
- This is usually delivered via a USB-C to USB-C PD-compliant charger.
About the Power Bank:
- While your power bank has a large capacity (27,000mAh / 97.2Wh), the output port and protocol matter more than capacity.
- USB-A ports do not support USB Power Delivery (PD), which is essential for charging laptops like the Spectre x360.
- A USB-A to USB-C cable will not provide the necessary voltage/current (typically 20V at 3.25A) for laptop charging.
What You Need Instead:
- A power bank that supports USB-C PD output of at least 65W.
- A USB-C to USB-C cable rated for 65W or higher.
- Example: Look for power banks with USB-C PD 3.0 or 3.1 support and output specs like 20V/3.25A.
Recommended Steps:
Check the Power Bank’s Output Specs:
- If it only offers USB-A output (5V/2.4A or similar), it cannot charge your laptop.
- If it has a USB-C PD output rated at 65W or more, then it can charge your laptop using a USB-C to USB-C cable.
Use the Right Cable:
- Use a USB-C to USB-C cable that supports 65W PD charging.
- Avoid USB-A to USB-C for laptops, it’s only suitable for phones or low-power devices.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
