I want to know if my laptop has M. 2 slot for the SSD.  If yes then does it support PCIe 3.0 NVME M.2 SSD??

If yes please share some of the best options for the max performance.

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

HP 15 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide

Chapter 1 has the supported drive types.

Your notebook has a M.2 slot that supports both NVMe and SATA SSD's.

I recommend this model which has good performance for the price.

This is the 500 GB model:

Western Digital WD Blue SN570 NVMe 500GB, Upto 3500MB/s, with Free 1 Month Adobe Creative Cloud Subs...

One drawback you should be aware of with your notebook's model series.

The NVMe slot is PCIe Gen 3.0, but only two PCI express lanes are available.

That means the NVMe SSD is going to run at about half of its advertised speed.

The good news is that is still nearly 3x faster than a SATA SSD can run at.

Hi, Can I go for

Samsung 980 PRO 500GB Up to 6,900 MB/s PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 (2280) Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (MZ-V8P500)

https://www.amazon.in/Samsung-500GB-Internal-Solid-MZ-V8P500/dp/B08GS4FTL6/ref=sr_1_8?crid=9STV91HEI...

Although I know that The NVMe slot is PCIe Gen 3.0, and only two PCI express lanes are available.

But still, Can I use this PCIE GEN 4 for better speed, Will it be compatible?

Hi:

The problem is that since your notebook's M.2 slot is only PCIe Gen 3, the Samsung Gen 4 NVMe SSD would only work at a max speed of 3,500 MBPS if all 4 PCIe lanes were used.

So, the WD Blue SN570 will perform just as well as the Samsung 980 Pro which would also perform at a max of around 1,750 MBPS.

Now if you want to spend the extra money for one of those, it will work but no better than the much less expensive WD Blue SN 570.

The only way I would opt for the Samsung 980 Pro would be if I used it in a newer model PC in the future with a PCIe Gen 4 NVMe slot that supported PCIe Gen 4 SSD's at their fully advertised speeds.
