I want to buy a replacement battery for my hp notebook. There is a battery available online with item model number-N2L85AA#ABB. Can I check the specification, spare part number of this battery and also whether it is a genuine hp product using the item model number.

Need the model number of the laptop. That number you give is not an HP Part number. For some reason genuine HP batteries are hard to find in India. It may be a perfectly god aftermarket battery, however. Can you drop a link to where you see if for sale?

@Huffer Following is the link to the product https://www.amazon.in/HP-Original-Notebook-N2L85AA-Pavilion/dp/B0111M7SD2/ref=asc_df_B0111M7SD2/?tag...
And my laptop product number is- W6T42PA#ACJ

Either of these batteries will work:
4-cell, 41-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery 807957-001 3-cell, 31-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery 807956-001
Its otherwise known as an HS04 so the link you give is to the correct battery and by all appearances and based on reviews is a genuine HP Part.
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

The images in the ads are too small to make out the part numbers on the label to see if the HP Part numbers above are printed on the label. Sorry to say there is no way to be 100% sure its actually a genuine HP battery. Since the same factories make "replacement" OEM batteries and original genuine ones it is too easy to fake the labels and packaging but little to gain by doing so. So as long as the vendor has a good feedback record and the battery comes in an HP box and has an HP label...99.9% its the real McCoy.

No the warranty is not applied at the subcomponent level just to the computer as a whole. There is not even a record of the serial number on the parts put in any specific laptop. The assembly line people just pull them from a stock and install them to build the computer. Seriously, this has not been a problem. We do not get posts where people have this concern.
