Hi all,
I recently purchased a HP 15-CW1500sa and whilst it is a fantastic laptop for my needs I seem to require some more ram for my daily needs and as the description states I'm looking at upgrading it.
I've seen another post saying some DDR4-2400 ram but I can purchase some DDR-3200 for the same price. My question being, should I go for the 3200? Will I have any issues if I buy a pair of 4GB sticks like suffering any issues like more temp? I also do some very light gaming as it was one of the reason I wanted to upgrade, so I'm guessing the increase speed will be welcome? will anything bottleneck the increase performance?
Any advice would be great.
Thanks
Will

You're very welcome.
The two matching capacities should run in dual channel mode according to the service manual (chapter 1).

Hi:
Below is the link to the Crucial memory report for your notebook.
https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/pavilion-15-cw1500sa
It appears that you can install PC4-3200 MHz memory in your model, but it will not run at the full 3200 MHz speed.
Looking at all the available info on the Ryzen 3300U processor your notebook has, I the memory will only run at 2400 MHz, but you should not experience any negative side effects.

Chapter 5, page 50 indicates that you need to remove the battery.
