I'm trying to allow access to my webcam via the settings menu under privacy and security and no camera or video option is available. Yes the camera app works, yes teams can use the camera via the chrome browser which does have the camera settings. This is preventing my VDI connector from identifying a camera that it can access.
I have followed the following steps already with no success.
- Turn off your Chromebook, then turn it back on. = No change
- Try using the camera in another app, like Hangouts. If it works in that app, uninstall the app where it doesn't work, then reinstall it. = Camera works but still not showing in the settings.
- Reset your Chromebook. =no change, still not in chromebook settings.
- Recover your Chromebook. =no change, still not in chromebook settings.
Thoughts anyone?

Hi@DaaSMonkey,
Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!
I see you are experiencing webcam issues with the HP Chromebook.
I have a few recommendations
- If your camera isn't working, or if you see a message that says "No camera found": Turn off your Chromebook, then turn it back on. Try using the camera in another app, like Hangouts. If it works in that app, uninstall the app where it doesn't work, then reinstall it..
- If your Chromebook camera stops working, update your laptop to the latest version, and reset your hardware. Additionally, uninstall and reinstall the app where the camera doesn't work.
- Go into Settings, click About Chrome OS, then select Check For Updates. After updating and a restart the camera icon should be back.
- If your camera isn't working, or if you see a message that says "No camera found": Turn off your Chromebook, then turn it back on. Try using the camera in another app, like Hangouts. If it works in that app, uninstall the app where it doesn't work, then reinstall it.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
