My chromebook is not charging so I want to fit a new battery, having exhausted all other options.

 

My problem is that whilst there are many videos showing how to do it they all show removal of the top by undoing the  screws in the base, mine has no screws so how does it come apart?

I understand you are facing a battery issue with your HP Chromebook. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

 

 Let's perform a hard reset:

 

  • Power off the laptop.
  • Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter.
  • Power ON the laptop and check.

 

Update Chrome OS:

  1. Turn on your Chromebook.
  2. Connect your Chromebook to Wi-Fi.
  3. At the bottom right, select the time

Settings

  1. At the bottom left, select About ChromeOS.
  2. Under "Google ChromeOS," you'll find which version of the Chrome operating system your Chromebook uses.
  3. Select Check for updates.
  4. If your Chromebook finds a software update, it will start to download automatically.

Well changed the battery and the charging light now comes on but it still wont boot up.
