My chromebook does not find its camera.  When we plug in another webcam it doesnt find that.  We have set back to factory settings but that didnt work

Welcome to the HP Support Community

 

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Chromebook - 14-Ca061dx. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

 

To assist better:

  • What brand is the external camera?
  • What happens when you try to use the normal inbuilt camera?
  • Have you tried to powerwash ChromeOS?

While you respond to that, Let's perform a Powerwash:

 

  1. Sign out of your Chromebook.
  2. Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift + r.
  3. Select Restart.
  4. In the box that appears, select Powerwash and then Continue.
  5. Follow the steps that appear and sign in with your Google Account.
    Note: The account you sign in with after you reset your Chromebook will be the owner account.
  6. Once you've reset your Chromebook:
  7. In the corner of your screen, select Launcher .
  8. Open Camera .
  9. At the bottom, choose an option:
    • Select Photo and then Take photo .
