HP Chromebook x2 - 12-f000na
Chrome OS

Have owned the Chromebook for near on 3 years.  An excellent machine except that the stylus is very flaky.  Started to work intermittently and has now stopped altogether, defeating the purpose of owning the machine entirely.

I have followed instructions/guidance on how to resolve it and even Powerwashed the Chromebook as a last resort (highly inconvenient) but no change.

I have purchased a replacement stylus - a product recommended by HP - still no change.

Any advice  PLEASE?!

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP Chromebook X2 Stylus not working.

To resolve this issue, upgrade your Chrome operating system to version M93 or later. Refer to Update your Chromebook's operating system for instructions to upgrade your Chromebook OS.

  1. Turn on your Chromebook.

  2. Connect your Chromebook to a Wireless network.

For more information, go to Connect your Chromebook to WI-FI.

  3. At the bottom-right, select the time.

  4. Select Settings.

  5. At the bottom of the left panel, select About Chrome OS.

  6. Under Google Chrome OS, you'll find the version of the Chrome operating system your Chromebook uses.

  7. Select Check for updates.

  8. If an update is available. it starts to download automatically.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
