I'm in a middle school. I have several one year old Chromebooks (x360 11 G4 Education Edition) where the battery stops charging. For example, I have one Chromebook that shows the battery is charged to 89%. If I unplug the AC adapter, the device shuts down. When I plug in the AC adapter, the battery shows charged to 89%, but won't charge - sometimes it will just say "89% - Calculating..."
I've tried disconnecting the battery, holding down the power button, plugging in the AC adapter and booting, and then reconnecting the battery. The battery will still show that it is charged to 89% and "Calculating..." and does not charge. When I unplug the AC adapter, the device shuts down again.
I've tried powerwashing and using a Recovery USB. Nothing seems to reset the battery. The only solution I've had is to replace the battery.
Has anyone been able to revive these batteries? For example, Dell has a combination of keys you can use on the Chromebooks to reset the battery. But nothing seems to work on these HPs.
