Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your Chromebook is not charging, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Check the Power Adapter and Cable:
- Ensure that the power adapter and charging cable are not damaged. Look for any frays or breaks.
- Try using a different outlet to ensure that the power source is working.
2. Inspect the Charging Port:
- Check the Chromebook’s charging port for any debris, dust, or damage. Clean it gently if needed.
3. Force a Restart:
- Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds to force a restart. Sometimes, a reset can resolve charging issues.
4. Check the Battery Status:
- If your Chromebook has a removable battery, remove it (if possible), wait a few seconds, then reinsert it and try charging again.
5. Try a Different Charger:
- If available, use a different charger that is compatible with your Chromebook to see if it charges.
6. Leave It Plugged In:
- Sometimes, if the battery is completely drained, it may take a few minutes before the charging indicator appears. Leave it plugged in for about 15-30 minutes and then check.
7. Update Chrome OS:
- If your Chromebook powers on after charging, check for any updates by going to Settings > About Chrome OS > Check for updates.
8. Check for Overheating:
- If the device feels hot, let it cool down before attempting to charge it again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
