5 Months ago I got an OMEN by HP laptop. A few months after that it began to make clicking noises from the lower left (under the windows button) of the laptop. I was not worried about it until I began to download to my 😧 Drive and began to get write errors from Steam while downloading a game.
I preformed some hard drive tests (by hitting F2 while booting up) and did the extensive test on all components and all devices tested passed, multiple times.
The clicking seems to happen reagardless of if anything is being written to the disk (SSD or HDD) and does not happen all the time. It only happens when Windows 10 is active and it did not make the noise durring the Hard drive tests. The clicking has a pattern that repeats about once a second with two to three longer clicks then several shorter clicks. Occasionaly there is a loud whine but that has happened since I got the laptop.
Can you help me figure out what the problem is and if it is something that should be looked into and fixed?

As always, Keeping a backup of your personal data is important.
Apart from this, I would suggest you to ring HP techincal support to have the Hard Drive replaced while your PC is still in warranty.

That sounds like the location of the Primary HDD.
The fan is located at the upper left hand corner???
Please run the HDD test again.
