HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-bp0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi Everyone,

Okay so this has been happening for a while and I am not sure what to do about it. I have an external mouse connected to my computer through USB and if i use it for some period of time (like say a couple hours), my internal mouse (the click pad) will completely stop working unless I restart my computer which is extremely annoying. I have done pretty much everything the internet has told me but please I will redo them again if you think it will help fix this issue.

P.S My click pad doesn't have buttons on it so it's not disable that way so please don recommend that.

ALSO - this has been happening for a while (like years) so i am not sure if system restore will do anything

Details about my computer:

HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-bp0xx

Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Product number 1UG60UA#ABL

@hannahd28,

I reviewed your post and I understand that the touchpad stops working after a while.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you uninstall the touchpad driver from the device manager and then download and install it from the below link.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp92501-93000/sp92722.exe

Here is how it is done.

  1. Type "Device Manager" into the search field to open the device manager console.
  2. Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.
  3. On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
  4. When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.

NOTE: On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

@hannahd28

I understand your concerns.

Please perform the system file check.

1) Select Start, and in the search box, enter Command Prompt. Press and hold (or right-click) Command Prompt (Desktop app) from the search results and select Run as administrator.

2) Enter DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (note the spaces before each "/").

3) Enter sfc /scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/").

Also, update the windows update and check.

Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Have a nice day!!
