Probook 450 G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would like to change the hard drive (M2) to a larger one.
I tried it with Macrium and it shows me a message before starting the process
that the hard drive has a bitlocker and that it will be copied but not the bitlocker settings.
Windows does not have bitlocker enabled but bios has TPM enabled.
I tried to close it but after two consecutive restarts the computer activated the TPM.
I'm afraid to move on from Macrium if the computer doesn't boot later and lock the old disk as well.
I don't know if that can happen.
Is there a secure process to follow so I can change the hard drive without losing my installation?

Thanks .

Hello

is you are not using bitlocker, it means you data are not encrypted, so you don't risk to lose anything even if TMP is enabled.

Could I ask you how you connect the larger M.2 disk to the notebook , in order to copy from smaller M.2 to bigger M.2 ?

Did you check is both M.2 SSD are of the same type ? I mean , are they both SATA or NVMe ?

bye

Hallo ,

Τhe two M2s are of the same type.

Because I do not have an external M2 connection adapter I use an external adapter that connects a simple hard drive to make the first copy there (from the M2 to the simple hard drive) and then I will put the largest M2 on the laptop and copy again ( from the simple hard drive to the new larger M2).
