Hello, I have Compaq CQ58-d04SM Notebook PC, want to upgrade memory to max . How many memory I can install in one slot? Aida said that my motherboard can support 16GB, so can I install 8GB in one slot and 8GB in another?

Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

The Manual says maximum 8 gigs (2 x 4 gig DDR3-1600 SO-DIMM). This 4 gig module is specified:

4 GB 641369-001

Yes theoretically the processor and chipset should be able to accept  2 x 8 gigs since it is an i3 3rd gen system, but the only responsible advice to give is that your max is 2 x 4 = 8 gigs. If you want to try for more, it might work but no guaranties.

Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if its the info you needed even if not exactly what you wanted to see.
