Hi,
I am Jose Nunez, an electronic engineer that gives hardware support. Right now I have a little old laptop model Compaq Presario CQ60-423DX that I has upgrade its bios firmware to F.65. I have two questions:
Is it possible to upgrade its 3 GB memory to a maximum of 8 GB ....?
Is it possible to upgrade its cpu celereon to a multi core cpu ....?
Please, could you answer these questions...?
Best regards.

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook's model series.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02985882.pdf
The processor and memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1.
The max memory is 2 x 2 GB for a total of 4 GB.
Upgrading the processor is tricky.
It depends on what chipset your notebook has.
Since it comes with an Intel Celeron processor, most likely it has the Mobile Intel GL40 chipset.
That chipset only supports processors that have a max FSB speed of 800 MHz.
In that case, the fastest processor you can install according to the manual would be the T5900, which has an 800 MHz FSB.
Run the free utility that I zipped up and attached below and it will confirm what chipset your notebook has.
If by some chance it has the GM45 chipset, then you can install any of the processors listed in the manual.
