HP Notebook - 14-bp001nx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey everyone ,

I wanted to upgrade my Hp 14-bp001nx with a new M.2 as I saw there was a free slot in the motherboard , and I bought new PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 .

Does my laptop support this M.2 ? And if not , which M.2 can I use ?

Thanks

Hi:

According to chapter 1 of the service manual, only M.2 SATA SSD's are supported, assuming your notebook has the M.2 slot included.

Sometimes on those older model notebooks that came with a 2.5" drive, the M;2 slot isn't there.

Thanks for the reply ,

I couldn't open the link but I will tell you what I have , I opend my laptop and saw that it has a 1TB HDD with a free M.2 slot , so I wanted to upgrade my laptop to an SSD , after I opened the SSD and installed it and then opened the disk manger and didn't see any new disks , I opened the BIOS and didn't see any option regarding the storage system.

Please note that as shown in the picture , I think that my slot only supports NVMe .

You're very welcome.

The link to the service manual works fine for me.

I have attached the manual below.

You can see in chapter 1 on page 3, only SATA SSD's are supported.

All HP desktop and notebook PC's have M.2 slots with only one key.

So, it looks like a NVMe SSD would work, but that is why it is important to read the manual.

Some M.2 slots support NVMe only, some support SATA only, and some support both.

If you want to install a M.2 SATA SSD, look into one of the Western Digital Blue SA510 SATA M.2 SSD's which should work fine.
