Does HP Pavilion 15 p204tx have M.2 slot? If yes does it support Samsung 970 EVO plus 500GB/ 1TB?

Hi, @martinmate

Your notebook does not have a M.2 slot to support a NVMe SSD.

Some models have a M.2 slot that supports SATA SSD's only and you have to remove the motherboard to get to where the M.2 SATA slot is located.  Not worth it, in my opinion since a 2.5" SATA SSD is just as fast as a M.2 SATA SSD.

If you want to upgrade to a SSD, I recommend that you replace the 2.5" mechanical drive with a 2.5" SSD.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the supported drive types...

Yes, it has the M.2 port for SSD and the interface is SATA 3.

I  believe your system should be compatible with Samsung 970 EVO plus 500GB

Have a look at this page from Samsung

I guess you are right, it doesn't support NVME. Thank you for the speedy reply, Paul.
