Yes, I think that even though they are not listed as supported in the manual, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't work, unless the BIOS doesn't have the microcode for those processors, and we wouldn't know if it does or not until you try one out.

Intel has a very handy processor comparison utility.
I have posted the link to the processor comparison tables for the i3-380M. i5-480M, i5-580M and the i7-640M:
Intel® Product Specification Comparison
The blue shaded lines highlight the differences.

Hi, thanks for the information, I can confirm that proccessor Intel Core i7-640M is working good with HP Pavilion G6-1077ss and Windows 11.
In your previous post you said is important the tecnoloogy Intel turbo boost. Windows 7 have drivers por this technology, in Windows 10 and Windows 11 is needed to install the driver for use turbo boost?
How is it used, is it automatic or does it need some utility?

You're very welcome and thanks for letting us know that the i7-640M processor works fine.
Turboboost is automatic.
You can install the free Intel turboboost utility and it will provide a graphic of when turboboost kicks in.
You can move or change the size of the icon in the settings menu.
It works on W10/W11 too.
I'm running it on a couple of my PCs that are running W11 24H2.
