I have an HP laptop with a motherboard model 83F9 and BIOS version 46.52. I’m considering upgrading my storage and would like to know if my laptop's M.2 slot supports NVMe SSDs. I already have the M.2 slot, but I’m not sure if it’s compatible with NVMe or only with SATA SSDs. Where can I find this information, or has anyone tried using an NVMe SSD with this motherboard?

The 15-cc1xx notebook model series is the only model in the series where the M.2 slot supports NVMe SSD's.

All of the other models do not.   The manual indicates the 15-cc600's do, but that is incorrect.

There are several posts on the forum that document NVMe SSDs work in the 15-cc1xx model series.

So my laptop supports the NVMe SSD?

That is correct.
