Hi @AGA-77

This laptop model not have a USB-C port compatible with DisplayPort, you cannot connect two monitors, unless you purchase a dock compatible with DisplayLink.

Don't you mean HDMI? There is no Display Port on this unit.  I don't care about the manufacturer, I just want one that is compatible.  I also don't need anything fancy, no audio, no USB-C, only HD video (1920x1080) for only two (2) monitors - monitors have both HDMI & DP inputs.

HP Recommended

You can only connect one monitor via HDMI. The USB-C port is not compatible with DisplayPort, so you will need to purchase a dock with DisplayLink technology, which uses software and hardware to send images via the USB-C port. HDMI is only for one monitor.

I have had docking stations at multiple work sites that were all HDMI - one HDMI in, two HDMI out.

But that doesn't allow you to have individual monitors with different images; they will always share the same image.

No, that would be an HDMI SPLITTER, not an HDMI HUB.

This is the first time I've heard that you can connect two monitors with different resolutions and different images via HDMI. If you know of such a product, buy one.

Well I will wait to hear from more experts and hopefully HP personnel. I *know* they exist, as I have used them, but with other laptops.  And we're not talking different resolutions - the laptop is 1920x1080 and so are the monitors.  I just need the EXTEND function, not the DUPLICATE.

HP Recommended

I repeat, the extend function is not possible. I don't know what hardware you have used or if you are confused with HDMI docks, which divide a single image into several. I think you are inventing something that I have never heard of. If it was as you say, then I don't know why DisplayPort was invented by all computer manufacturers.
