HP Spectre 15-eb0000 x360 Convertible Laptop PC RCTO Base Model
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to figure out what hard drives are compatible with the HP Spectre. My hard drive is broken and I guess it costs $400 just to mail my computer to HP for repairs, so I wanted to try replacing the hard drive myself. I've done it on my old laptop but I'm struggling to figure out the best compatible hard drive.

Here's the info on the laptop:

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi:

According to the specs for the product number you posted, the notebook came with a 1 TB NVMe M.2 SSD.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the M,2 SSD removal and replacement procedure.

This would be a suggested replacement.

If you weren't using much of that storage space, you could get the 500 GB model as well.

Your notebook is supported by the HP cloud recovery tool which you can use to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

Here is a link for how to use that utility... You will also need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media.

Thank you so much for your reply! I'll probably end up buying that today.

Unfortunately, I can't use the cloud recovery tool because my hard drive thinks it only has 2GB of space, and before I can even create the recovery drive, I have to download it to the computer. I feel pretty backed into a corner, and it seems like replacing the hard drive entirely might be my only option.

I can't thank you enough for help with the correct drive, though! Much appreciated!!

You're very welcome.

You can use the cloud recovery tool on any Windows PC running W7 64 bit or newer.

I've used it many times on my Dell PC's to create recovery media for my supported HP PC's.
