HP Gaming Pavilion - 17-cd0506na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

PC Specs -

CPU: Intel® Core™ i5 9300H

RAM: 8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB)

Product number: 7GS92EA#ABU
Serial number:***

Greetings,

I am wanting to add another 8GB of RAM to my laptop so it will have 16GB available.

I would like to know what 8GB RAM drives are compatible with my laptop motherboard, and will also be compatible with the 8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM that it currently possess. I would name the manufacturer of my current 8GB RAM drive but so far I can only see that it is 8gb DDR4...etc

I am not tech savy, so i am unsure about whether the other RAM drive that I  buy should be from the same manufacturer as the one I currently have, as well as also being DDR4 - 2666 SDRAM or if it does not need to be the same manufacturer so long as it is also DDR4 -2666... so would like this clarified.

If someone could answer my questions and then recommend/link me to what RAM drive to get that would be great.

I'd preferentially  like to buy them from on the HP website if there are any available. But they must be compatible so I don't need to change motherboard or buy 2 new 8GB because its incompatible/under-performing with the RAM i currently have. I just want 1 new one to add.

If the RAM drive manufacturer is important is there any way for me to find that out without needing to open up my laptop? I don't have the screwdriver for that right now...

I have tried to explain as best as I could, again, I am not savy on this stuff but hope I explained things clearly.

Thank you for your time!

The specs of your machine is

There is NO such thing called RAM driver. It has  8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) now and supports 64GB max. You can upgrade to

(a) 16GB: add SAME existing RAM to slot 2 or using

                   https://uk.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct8g4sfs8266/ct15191068

(b) 32GB: install 16GB each to BOTH slots using

                  https://uk.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k16g4sfd8266/ct15191117

(c) 64GB (max): Install 32GB each to BOTH slots using

                 https://uk.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k32g4sfd8266/ct16251463

https://uk.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k32g4sfd832a/ct16251781            (RAM will run at 2666MHz)
