Hello,

According to the manual it states that my laptop has a DDR4-2666 dual channel support (8750H/8300H processors). Meaning, I can upgrade my RAM up to 16gb (2 x 8GB preferably) which I intend to.

Now my issue is that I am having a hard time looking for the compatible RAM (2 x 8GB) for my laptop. Would anyone be so kind to redirect me some compatible and qualified RAM sticks that i can order online with iDeal? I would appreciate your assistance on this one!

Regards,

Acutulus Infacetum

Hi:

Below is the link to the Crucial memory report for your model.

They guarantee compatibility.

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/pavilion-gaming-15-cx0651nd

You can buy this memory in the Netherlands.

Crucial also states that you can install 2 x 16 GB of memory in your model.

Hello,

First, I would like to say thank you for your amazing fast reply. Secondly, I would like to ask if there is any difference between 2400MHZ (2.4 GHZ) and 2666MHZ (~2.7  GHZ).

For example: https://eu.crucial.com/eur/en/pavilion-gaming-15-cx0651nd/CT12592284

Now the example that I have just shared with you states that it is a DDR-2400MHZ. I was wondering if there are any with 2666MHZ since those are compatible and perhaps more preferred too. If there is no difference between DDR4-2400MHZ and DDR4-2666MHZ then I will just proceed to buy the DDR-2400MHZ instead.

Again, I want to thank you for the extra information that you have provided. I was already aware that I could upgrade my laptop RAM to even 32GB. Still a thank you!

You're very welcome.

The product specs for your notebook indicate that it comes with 1 x 8 GB of 2666 MHz memory.

https://support.hp.com/lv-en/document/c06067270

According to Intel, the processor should run 2666 Mhz memory.

https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/134876/intel-core-i5-8300h-processor-8m-cache-u...

The service manual states the same (chapter 1).

DDR4-2666 dual channel support (8750H/8300H processors)

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05985643

It was my understanding that the 8th gen processors only run the memory at 2400 MHz, not 2666 MHz.

So the first thing to do is to determine exactly what speed the memory in your notebook is running at.

Use the free utility that I zipped up and attached below to find out that info.

If the memory is running at 2400 MHz then I don't think it will matter if you buy a 2400 Mhz memory module.

But if the memory is running at 2666 MHz, then we need to find a compatible 2666 Mhz memory chip for your notebook.

It is indeed running on 2666MHZ.

So we do have to find a 2666MHZ

This looks like the 2666 MHz equivalent part...

I see,

so I just buy 2 of those and it should be practically be the same.

However I am not able to ship it to my destination, unfortunately.

So it leaves me with no options but to look for another online shop to buy it from.

Perhaps you could redirect me another source?

I appreciate your support as well! Thank you!

I think I have found one where I could buy it, I just want to make sure that it is the right one

I will be waiting for your approval.

Sorry to bother you today that much lol

Anytime.

Glad to be of assistance.

Yes, that is the same part number so it should work.

Also that part number is available on the Crucial EU website, but it is cheaper where you found it.

Are you going to buy one and see if it works with the one in there now, or are you going to clean house and buy two of the Crucial memory chips?

Most folks say you should buy two matching brands of the same exact specs.

I don't agree.  I would always buy one and if it worked with the existing chip, then that is found money.

I have PC's with different brand memory with the same specs, and it works fine.

But that is up to you.

I actually have right now 2 x 4gb in my laptop. I want to replace  them both to get 16gb of RAM.

Right now I am facing a dilemma. I don't know where to buy it from anymore and if they are the same.

Options I have:

- Alternate: https://www.alternate.nl/Crucial/8-GB-DDR4-2666-werkgeheugen/html/product/1399922?

- Amazon: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B071KP8CGG/ref=sr_1_1?__mk_nl_NL=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&keywords=C...

Which one should i buy it from?

Oh apparently the crucial 8gb ddr4-2666 sodimm is out of stock in my region on the crucial website.

Also thank you for suggestion!
