Hi, the SSD of my Pavilion 15-cw1xxx has developed a fault, so I need to replace it. Can you please advise of a compatible replacement. Ideally larger than the current 250 MB drive. Many thanks.

You're very welcome.

You can go with 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-3200 CL22 memory, or 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 CL22 memory.

You can run this command in Windows Powershell as administrator and see if the notebook will support more than 2 x 8 GB of memory:

Get-CimInstance -ClassName Win32_PhysicalMemoryArray | Select-Object MaxCapacityEx, MemoryDevices

Hi:

I recommend this one as a replacement.

Crucial P310 1TB SSD M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe Gen4, Up to 7,100MB/s, Laptop & Desktop (PC) Compatible, Int...

It's PCIe Gen 4.0 but it will probably cost less than a Gen 3 drive does nowadays.

Since your notebook's M.2 slot is only PCIe Gen 3.0, the Gen 4.0 SSD will not run at its maximum advertised read/write speeds from the Gen 3 slot but it will run at least as fast as the one that your notebook has now.

Many thanks for the information!

As I am at it, I would like to upgrade the memory too. Do you have any advice for that?

You're very welcome.

Your notebook can support up to 2 x 16 GB of DDR4 memory.

What model AMD processor does your notebook come with?

Do you know if it has a single 8 GB memory chip or 2 x 4 GB of memory?

HP Recommended

Hi, many thanks.

That's the processor:

AuthenticAMD Family 23 Model 24 Stepping 1

Currently it has 2*4 GB Memory. I understand the motherboard will take up to 2*8 GB Memory.
