Hi:

 

You should be able to use any 2.5" SATA SSD you want 2 TB or less storage capacity.

 

The Crucial MX500 2.5" SATA drives are reasonably priced and have decent performance.

And yes, your notebook can facilitate SSDs with a 9.5 mm adapter (see Crucial's "Internal SSD"): Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | hp - compaq | pavilion g6 | Pavilion g6-2297sa | Crucial.com.
