Hi everyone so I have an issue I need help with the motherboard on my laptop isn’t working properly anymore and needs replacing but thought as it needs replacing can I upgrade it and the i3 processor to an i5 instead as I know a lot of people say you can’t upgrade your processor because of the motherboard not being compatible but is there another motherboard compatible with my laptop that will take a better processor ?
If anyone needs more information please ask

I don't know what they mean but for your machine motherboard and CPU are always compatible because they are on one piece of hardware called System board.
Now, if you wish to upgrade its CPU you have to buy new AVAILABLE System board which contains 3 or 4 parts: motherboard, CPU, GPU (if available) and Windows.
Page 62 of the last manual on the following link shows you a list of System boards for the series

If you find it in the link it's going to be fairly cheap. Money back warranty, I've never lost a penny here!

From the look of it they sell the boards by their serial number, not the computer name. Does it impossible for me to find it... If you can get your serial number, preferebly finding it stamped on the board instead of the net I will search around for you, no problem. 😉
I find HP's official info on the net, including their manuals contradicting so the number written on your specific board is the safest.
