Pavilion dv6-6c73sl
Linux

Good morning. I have a Pavilion dv6-6c73sl with a Realtek RTL8188CE network card. I would like to know if there is a compatible dual band network card to update the one I have. I looked on this Maintenance an Service guide but I can't find neither my RTL8188CE  nor a dual band equivalent. Do you know if it does exist a compatibility list and if I can do such an update? Tank you all.

Hi:

Unfortunately, there aren't any internal dual band wifi cards that will work in that model series, and since it has a BIOS whitelist, you can't install any card that didn't originally come with your PC.

If you want dual band wifi, you will need to use an external USB wifi adapter.

They make some small nano-AC adapters nowadays that hardly stick out from the USB port.
